The authors of the book became acquainted while working on a magazine feature, going on to capture dozens of lovely homes for various interior magazines throughout the years. Maria Rautio is an interior journalist and communications entrepreneur from Espoo, southern Finland, who specializes in living, construction and beautiful homes. This is her first book, which was inspired by her time living in a former mental hospital, now a listed building. The historical milieu with its oak-lined alleys, period buildings and intriguing past add a unique backdrop to modern living. Pauliina Salonen is one of Finland's most renowned interior photographers. During her fifteen-year career, she has worked for both magazines and numerous corporate clients. Her signature style involves capturing spaces in natural light to reflect a genuine, inviting atmosphere. Pauliina has previously photographed the international bestseller Nordic Interior Book (2019) and Cozy Homes from Finland (2016).
